Trailfest 14th Annual Spring Cycling Event Tip 2 Tip

Start - 5:00AM in Tignish

Finish - 9:00PM in Elmira

Participants are required to have:

  • enough food/water between stop stations
  • strongly suggested participants carry a backpack with either camelback, hydration pack or 2 water bottles
  • at least 2 spare tubes
  • tool to change tire/multitool
  • cellphone to contact supervisors
  • appropriate spare clothing (i.e. rain poncho, long pants, bug repellent, sunscreen, etc.)
  • all bikes should be serviced before event day (OLS or other bike shop) and in good condition
  • tire inflator /small hand pump
  • Personal ID
  • Medical card
  • **If you know you will be longer than 16 hours you must bring a head lamp or light system and have your bike equiped with a front white light and red read light.

There will be limited transportation to start area and limited seats back to town from Elmira

It is up to participants to arrange drives to start in Tignish and pickup at Elmira

It is suggested that participants be dropped off in Tignish and do not leave their vehicles there with a second driver to pickup in Elmira

Strongly suggested that participants carpool to start/finish of event

Official Stops with Food/Drink:

  • (1) Portage
  • (2) Kensington
  • (3) Hunter River
  • (4) Mt. Stewart
  • (5) St. Peters

There are unofficial stops along the way where participants can buy snacks/drinks (Must bring cash/credit)

Participants are encouraged to ride in groups, NOT alone

Once ride has begun, there will be 3 groups:

  • Fast pace
  • Intermediate
  • Slower pace

It is up to participants to guide themselves on the correct path; maps will be handed out prior to start time

In Hunter River and Mt. Stewart there will be cut off times and if participant does not meet these times they will be asked to finish their ride since they will not make it to Elmira before dark

There are 2 dropout stops at Kensington and Hunter River if participant does not want to continue however they are responsible for drives and must tell supervisors
